Relationship & Marriage Counseling
Even healthy couples have problems. It’s a normal part of being in relationship. We can help you with our special approach to individual relationship counseling and couples counseling.
Perhaps you are struggling with sexual issues? Maybe you want better couples communication, more passion, joy and intimacy? Often, a long-term partnership starts to feel “old”, “boring”, and “routine”. We wake up one day and wonder where the romance went and what happened to the person “I fell in love with” way back when.
Struggling with couples communication, sexual issues, and unresolved conflict is human. Given how important we all feel relationships are, of course we want them to be the best. The art of being a healthy couple is something you can learn. It does not come automatically out of the blue. You may need relationship counseling to help you on your way.
RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING or COUPLES COUNSELING?
Our specialty is helping people in relationship become the healthy couples they always have wanted. In addition to our private marriage counseling retreats, we are both in private practice and work individually and together, with couples and individuals all over the country—supporting them to increase connection, deepen couple communication, heal from extramarital affairs, resolve sexual issues, and, often, for new couples, begin life together with skill, and understanding about how a good relationship really works.
Sometimes couples counseling is not the best option right away. It may be better for you to be in individual relationship counseling to sort out your personal feelings before going into couple counseling.
We often do couples counseling, as well as individual relationship counseling on the phone or by Skype, and people who live in our area (southern Colorado) come to our offices for face-to-face appointments.
Our relationship counseling and couples counseling approach is a unique combination of educating you about couples communication skills and behaviors, helping you practice those skills, and facilitating you to grow yourself to become the partner/person you would like to be in all your relationships. We are each trained in coaching and psychotherapy modalities as well as specific couples counseling techniques, so we combine our personal experience in relationship, as well as our professional training.
